Feeding the Person in the Mirror

I was reading an article in the September 2010 Bill Glazer & Dan Kennedy’s NO B.S. Marketing Letter and it got me to thinking. It usually does.

Now Dan is a “in your face” kind of guy and he pulls no punches. A lot of people don’t like him because of that. Personally, I love it. Generally I dislike beating around the bush, hinting at making a point, being a gentler and kinder soul. Little gets accomplished other than me getting frustrated and annoyed.

He notes that we have become a society based upon entitlements. If you read a book or take a course or attend a seminar you think you’re entitled to some reward for your time and effort. “All the study and acquired knowledge in the world is no substitute for doing something.” You can’t really learn to ride a bicycle in a seminar classroom. Dan says about business owners that they “just aren’t doing enough in the real world, every day, to get the outcomes they claim to want.”Feed the Person in the Mirror

Then it hits me.

This applies precisely to wanting to eat healthy, lose inches and lose pounds. Society expects, you expect, to get results without doing any real work, as though reading about eating healthy, balancing your proteins, carbs and fats for your metabolic type, increasing activities and making healthier food choices will make it happen automatically without any effort. It won’t. What you learn must be applied.

Change is hard, no question about it. It’s like trying to turn an ocean liner while under full power. We settle into a comfortable routine and expect to turn on a dime. Ain’t gonna happen. At least it ain’t gonna happen without getting educated about food and nutrition and seeking out proven support and guidance.

Making healthy life style changes have far and away beneficial and happy rewards. It is never too late to make those changes. Which means you will have to seek out assistance, stick with a program, keep yourself motivated and practice discipline in the moment for a better tomorrow.

If you are lead around by your taste buds alone you must plan to live at the mercy of the medical community later on. If you are run by convenience and ease, breaking Mother Nature’s precise rules, your put your well being in jeopardy. That’s it, pure and simple. Kind of like how Dan Kennedy puts it. You either do this NOW while you still can or suffer the consequences later.

I invite you to ask the person in the mirror if they are ready to begin. If so, start your education and get your support at a website called Easy Diet for Life – http://easydietforlife.com. Look for the free metabolic survey to get yourself going.
